Stephanie Emerson

Accompanist - Percussion (2000)

Stephanie was born in Brooklyn, NY, the granddaughter of Russian, Polish and German Jewish immigrants. She played percussion for the Sacred Heart Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps (Manville, NJ) and in the Brigham Young University Cougar Marching Band (Provo, UT). She states that it is an urban myth that Michael Jackson is a graduate of Brigham Young. After college, Stephanie traveled the U.S., ending up in Sarasota in 1986, and began writing band reviews and op-ed pieces for Eclipse magazine and the Shady Lady Yellow Pages. She now writes for the Gazette (Tampa, FL) and plays percussion for the GCMC and the Trinity MCC's Praise Team. Stephanie now lives in Sarasota's historic Gillespie Park Neighborhood with her husband, Fred Murray, in a classic Florida house circa 1925. She has two sons, Scott and Brian, from her first marriage, and is the proud grandma of Dylan and Anna.
